Would you buy a sandwich from this man?

Jared Fogle got his plea bargain this week. Larry McShane writes for the New York Daily News,
“This is about using wealth, status and secrecy to illegally exploit children,” said U.S. Attorney Joshua Minkler. “He preyed on minor victims who did not have the ability to protect themselves.”

Damning court papers exposed the married dad’s obsession with kids as young as age 6 and a fascination with hookers barely in their teens, shredding Fogle’s carefully crafted persona.

Twelve Indiana children, along with a pair of New York teens at ritzy Manhattan hotels, were abused by the legendary weight-loss king for his own twisted gratification.

Fogle, 37, also covered up the perversions of a longtime pal who provided him with nude photos of kids ages 9 to 16.

In just four astounding hours, Fogle signed papers admitting his vile crimes, was dumped by his wife while sitting in court, and learned he would live the rest of his life as a registered sex offender.

He faces a minimum federal jail term of five years in prison and five years of supervised release, although prosecutors will ask for a sentence of 151 months — roughly 121/2 years. The sentencing judge could ignore the recommendation and imprison Fogle for up to 30 years.
