What did he learn?

Spencer Collins is a young man who put a box on a stick in his front yard. He fills the box with books, and encourages people to take a book and return it. His city has an ordinance against building structures in yards. He went to the city council to plead the case for literacy and community. He won (with the help of a milk box) a temporary moratorium until October.

When the Fox reporter asks him if he learned something in all of this, he replies, but I cannot understand what he says. Can you?

Thanks to Scott Ott.
